Premium Audit Supervisor - Northeast Region

Overview
We have an exciting opportunity available for a Premium Audit Supervisor in our Northeast Region. This role will supervises regional premium audit operations. It also oversees and audits complex commercial lines accounts requiring in-depth knowledge of premium auditing. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate for this role will live near our Corporate Headquarters in Branchville, NJ, OR somewhere in our Northeast footprint (NY, CT, RI, MA & NH)
Responsibilities
Oversees and audits complex commercial lines accounts requiring in-depth knowledge of premium auditing. Visits insureds to audit bookkeeping, payroll, accounting or other relevant records and accordingly assembles facts and data having a bearing in the determination of actual earned premiums for specific classes of commercial insurance.
Recommends operations procedural changes and plans; organizes and implements these changes in accordance with company guidelines. Keeps current on all changes affecting the office and department. Distributes all information to unit regarding classification changes, etc. Establishes procedures and controls to ensure accomplishment of service standards. Establish and oversee training plans for new and less experienced premium audit members.Manages the operations of the premium audit group to ensure a high degree of accuracy on a timely basis. Manages internal and field based premium audit staff. Completes all administrative reports.Acts as liaison with other departments such as claims, underwriting, accounting, and safety management. Provide guidance to Agents and other departments. Reinforce the ease of doing business with Selective by meeting or exceeding agent expectations and service quality on a consistent basis.
Reconciles discrepancies between audit information and policy statements. Makes decisions regarding disputed audits, classifications and application of rules.
Ensures regional compliance with SOX and other regulatory requirements. Maintains documentation of compliance.
Reviews audits to ensure they are completed in compliance with guidelines and make recommendations for improvement. Perform quality reviews in compliance with established Company Quality Assurance guidelines.
Maintain familiarity with all insurance manuals, premium audit manuals, handbooks, guides and related materials.
Oversees work in process utilizing the premium audit work management system.
Qualifications
College degree preferred.
5+ years Premium Audit experience
2 years Underwriting experience
2 years Accounting experience
Must be able to effectively communicate premium audit decisions to agents and insureds.
Maintains familiarity with all insurance manuals, premium audit manuals, handbooks, guides and related materials.
Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
Intermediate to advanced PC skills required including auditing software, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Possesses strong interpersonal skills.
Able to climb stairs and occasionally carry 20 pounds.
May require overnight travel.
Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
