BSU Business Analyst

The Selective Business Services Unit is a team of highly talented, self-motivated individuals focused on collaborating innovative ideas with our Business and Information Technology partners. We are currently seeking a business analyst to work within the Commercial Lines Automated System and to support Decision Management. The business analyst is responsible for formulating and defining business requirements, scope and objectives through research and fact-finding while displaying a basic understanding of business systems and industry standards. This includes analysis of business and user needs, documenting business requirements and completing user acceptance testing with limited direction from Business Architects and/or Managers. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Schedule and facilitate business requirements gathering sessions with business groups. Deliver various presentations as well
Identify all necessary stakeholders for various projects
Incorporate effective elicitation practices to ensure effective collection of all information needed for building Requirements and System documentation
Document and manage requirements documents for different types of work (initiatives, enhancements, regulatory, support, and break-fix) ensuring quality and completeness of all deliverables and obtaining necessary sign-offs
Initiate peer review discussions and incorporate feedback into requirement documents
Tracks tasks and accurately provides time estimates for tasks and requirement estimations
Conduct requirements walkthrough with development and testing teams. Ensure clarification and understanding on all requirements and obtain sign-off
Review coverage of test conditions and prioritize test scenarios for QA team
Complete user acceptance testing of requested changes
Ability to work in an Agile environment
Superior technical, organizational, time management and prioritization skills
Strong interpersonal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
Excellent written communication skills - ability to clearly express thoughts and ideas through documentation
Must demonstrate the ability to analyze problems, probe facts, and analyze issues and present alternative solutions
Highly motivated self-starter with an ability to effectively manage a range of tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
2+ years of experience in a business analysis role or 3+ years insurance experience
College degree or equivalent work experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
