Property / Loss Control Representative

Inspect properties: buildings, industrial operations, vehicles, and recreational facilities to evaluate physical conditions, safety practices and hazardous situations and prepare written reports of findings and generate system recommendations for correction of unsafe conditions. Conduct on-site loss control surveys and underwriting evaluations to assess potential hazards for policyholders throughout North & Central NJ. Conduct accident investigations. Prepare loss control reports and sends recommendations to policyholders to help them improve potential risk factors. Ability to travel within the designated assigned territory. Thorough knowledge and understanding of all lines of commercial insurance coverage. Ability to assess various commercial business operations and identify key loss potential hazards and exposures and make recommendations for improvement. Perform risk assessment surveys on prospective and existing business as directed and develops an overall opinion regarding the desirability of that risk. Prepare risk evaluation reports. Consult with policyholders on risk management issues by conducting consultative visits to the policyholder's workplace. Develop and implement risk management service plans and risk improvement recommendations for selected policyholders and assists policyholder in implementing recommendations. Make acceptability decisions on risks within defined binding authority. Refer risks beyond binding authority to commercial lines underwriter, or underwriting manager. Visit agents to discuss risk management issues. Contribute to agency development by participating in various agent meetings. Support the underwriting team philosophy by integrating loss control service activities with the claims and underwriting functions. Present risk control training sessions to both internal and external customers. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree is preferred. 5+ years of experience in Loss Control. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to work in a team environment or independently. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented. Excellent analytical and decision making skills. Experience with laptop computers, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Loss Control and Safety experience in the Insurance Industry (Workers Comp, Property or General Liability) is preferred.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
