Sr. Ceded Reinsurance Analyst

Overview
Actively involved in all aspects of reinsurance placements and exhibits ability to work independently on most tasks. The individual has a direct responsibility for facultative placements, analysis related to facultative placements, educating underwriters/AMS's as needed on any aspect of the fac process and maintenance of appropriate documentation. In addition, the individual has direct responsibility for testing of modeling and submission data, performing analysis of modeling results, actively participates in the data gathering, testing, analysis and preparation of reinsurance submissions and assisting in presentation preparation. In addition, the individual is intimately involved in credit risk analysis of the perspective reinsurers. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Independently perform all necessary functions for placement of facultative including communications with underwriters and reinsurers, analyzing/gathering of appropriate underwriting data, obtaining approvals from necessary parties, maintain documentation and electronic records of the placement, taking ownership of the billing process, maintaining the tracking spreadsheet and educating underwriters/AMS's as needed on any aspect of the fac process. Provide comprehensive analysis related to comparison of direct policy pricing vs. facultative pricing.
Identify any trends/differences in pricing in the facultative reinsurance market by analyzing fac quotes by class of business, cat exposure, etc.
Work with SBU and members of the Reinsruance Department to determine changes/enhancements to existing facultative documents on the Underwriting Zone, make any necessary changes/enhancements and assist in preparing training and or communication plans to educate user community on the changes.
Assist in preparation of submissions: work with internal and external parties to gather appropriate information for submission, prepare appropriate exhibits, test and reconcile submission data and identify data problems and discrepancies and work with other members of the team, the BSU personnel and other departments to make necessary corrections.
Assist in a variety of organizational tasks such as coordination of underwriting and claims file audits with reinsurers and brokers; planning semi-annual SIGI Reinsurance conference; coordinating variety of reinsurer meetings, etc.
Perform semi-annual financial reviews of reinsurers and monitor and report on reinsurance news/issues.
Take a lead role in organizing and maintaining treaty and submission records in electronic and paper formats.
Assist in preparation and delivery of reinsurance presentations.
Maintain positive relationships with and appropriately represent the Company to reinsurance partners.
Qualifications
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Access, Excel, Word, excellent customer service, networking, and relationship building skills,and general insurance industry knowledge
BA or BS degree preferred
Strong Excel and Access skills are required
2+ years Reinsurance, Underwriting, Reinsurance Accounting, or other insurance-related experience

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
