Financial Systems Analyst

Overview
Responsible for Financial System's operations, this includes system balancing, production support and administrating system maintenance/security for all financial systems. Participate and assist in managing financial system upgrades and ad-hoc project work. Ensure policy and procedures are kept current and assist in gathering and participating in SOX interim/year-end processes. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Responsible for Financial System upgrades this includes coordinating/executing of tasks per plan and documenting results.
Provide general system production support to accounting staff on all financial systems (i.e. PFI Investments, PeopleSoft (General Ledger, Fixed Asset and Accounts Payable), Wings and ProCede).
Responsible for data quality, reconciliation, controls, and exception handing for all Accounting or Finance's systems. This includes maintaining and documenting changes to financial systems (e.g. security roles, accounting tree changes, chart-field changes, inbound/outbound interfaces, etc.), and monthly source system to general ledger reconciliations.
Provide end user training/education on financial system (e.g. how to navigate around PeopleSoft, queries, reports; etc.)
Responsible for trouble shooting Financial System technical production issues and working with IT Corp System in resolving or recommending a potential solution.Participate and provide input/guidance on products or services that are being reviewed for potential solutions within Accounting/Finance.
Support ad-hoc & Accounting projects, which include gathering/documenting requirements, performing analysis, configuring and testing changes; as well coordinating testing with project participants and documenting results.
Technical support person for company initiatives impacting Accounting/Finance.
Assist with gathering, documenting and performing interim/year-end SOX processes
Responsible for maintaining and ensuring department procedures are documented and updated.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting software packages
Knowledge of systems architecture and database management
Willing to take ownership with job responsibility
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong organizational skills
Leadership skills
Proficient in Excel and Word
Bachelor's degree (accounting or finance) preferred
Three to five years of accounting, IT and/or Project Management experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
